A well-crafted plan for economic development
Local favorites, Butler Brew Works and Straub Brewery brought home the Gold this week from the 2017 U.S. Open Beer Championship amongst international competition.
Butler Brew Works in Butler brought home the coveted Gold Medal for their “Ale of Eros” Belgian Style Fruit Beer. Straub Brewery in St. Mary’s won two Gold Medals for their American Light and American Imperial Pilsner.
The Progress Fund is honored to work with these two award winning craft breweries.
For Butler Brew Works, we provided a start-up loan that enabled them to open exactly one year ago. As Co-owners Nick Fazzoni and Travis Tuttle have commented about their Gold Medal from this week, “…What a way to celebrate our 1 Year anniversary!”.
For Straub Brewery, we are the approved recipient of a Grant of up to $1,000,000 from the Commonwealth of PA which will then reimburse Straub for a portion of the construction costs of their new visitor’s center and tasting room. Yes, their famous “Eternal Tap” is going to get a make-over and be an even greater asset in northwestern PA’s tourism industry.
These two great breweries are an instrumental part of The Progress Fund’s strategy for economic development. We know how the craft beverage industry has positively improved regional economies across the world. We are going to do all we can to help the craft manufacturing industry reach its full potential in our region. To date, we have funded 2 breweries, 4 distilleries and 6 wineries. Please let us know who else we might help!
