Golf thrives in Western PA
The headlines have been nothing short of funereal.
Golf is dead, they say. Or at least it’s in the decline. You can thank the Great Recession for that. Generational change. Or credit Tiger, whose spectacular rise was outdone only by his disastrous fall, mirroring the decline of golf’s popularity. Maybe, some say, the fault lies with the sport, which is too slow, too expensive, too elitist and too hard to learn.

Construction of Cobblestone Hotel and Suites Underway
The long awaited hotel in Connellsville broke ground in early February with the help of a $500,000 loan from The Progress Fund. The hotel owners are excited to serve trail users on the Great Allegheny Passage and others in the community of this key Trail Town.
