“Papa Joe” Talarico inherited his gift for cooking and winemaking through generations of Southern Italian tradition, and passed his talents on to his daughters, Beth and Katie. Joe and his wife Deb, along with Beth and Katie, started pouring fine flavors from “Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar” together at local festivals and events.

Progress

The family wanted to bring the community together around their table for fresh, Old-World flavor. They found a charming building in a blossoming section of Lawrenceville, but they still needed some equipment, inventory and little touches to recreate the cozy feel of a Talarico family Sunday dinner. With $100,000 from The Progress Fund, their pride & passion finally came together.

Impact

Piazza Talarico & Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar is a true family affair. The Talaricos treat their entire team like part of la famiglia, generously providing both a living wage and revenue sharing. When you stop in, you’ll feel just like family, too. But, don’t worry, you won’t have to do the dishes.
