Little Crossings Dips
People
Mike Dreisbach and Jan Russell know what it takes to build a thriving business from the ground up. Mike combined his 27 years of business consulting experience with Jan’s extensive experience working with some of the world’s finest hotels, spas and restaurants. Together, they planned and developed Savage River Lodge, an upscale lodge near Frostburg, Maryland, which they have owned and managed for over 17 years. They opened a second business, the Cornucopia Café and gift shop, in Grantsville, Maryland several years ago. To complement their cafe, they thought an ice cream parlor, Little Crossings Dips, would be the perfect addition.
Progress
Mike and Jan have made Little Crossings Dips the place to go for a delicious ice cream treat along the Casselman River. The Progress Fund provided $25,000 for leasehold improvements, machinery, equipment and inventory to get this yummy dessert place started.
Impact
Now Little Crossings Dips is serving up locally made ice cream from Trickling Springs Creamery and providing a sweet experience for the 60,000 annual visitors to the historic Casselman Bridge State Park and Spruce Forest Artisan Village.
