Alpine Property Rentals, LLC - The Wright View
We’ve had a really good relationship with The Progress Fund.
People
No, you can’t stay overnight at Fallingwater, or Kentuck Knob, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed masterpieces in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands. But thanks to Pam and Jessica Kruse, you can stay nearby, and luxuriate all night in Wright’s Usonian style. The Kruses had specialized in remote mountain vacation rentals and Ohiopyle retail. But when they took in the view of the Uniontown Country Club from the vast windows of this Wright-inspired gem, they knew it was time to diversify.
Progress
As they’d done five times previously in a decade of entrepreneurial expansion, the Kruses turned to The Progress Fund, which loaned them $274,000.
Impact
Uniontown is a Laurel Highlands city, within a short drive of both Wright masterpieces, Ohiopyle, Fort Necessity, Nemacolin and endless skiing, hunting, hiking and biking adventures. Until the Kruses arrived, though, the airbnb revolution had just a toehold in the city. As a result, travelers looking for unique lodging close to city amenities — not to mention golf — had few options. Now they can have it all. “We will turn the garage into a game room with a pool table. And we’re going to put in a hot tub,” says Pam. Finding and financing the property “just took the blinders off, that we need to really explore new possibilities.”
